Střední odborná škola a střední odborné učiliště, Littrowa 122 (Vocational school)

The history of the vocational school in Horšovský Týn dates back to World War II. The school currently has 750 students and 100 employees. The school offers a wide variety of subjects to its students: 4 courses culminating with the Graduating exam – courses of agribusiness, economics and business, engineering and commercial business, 4 apprentice courses culminating with a certificate - mechanic repairman of motor vehicles (former mechanic), cook - waiter, farm machinery repairman and bricklayer. These courses are linked to additional study, culminating with Graduating exam – course of business.

There are two fields of study which have a special concern with environmental education. Recent years have seen an unprecedented tourist advancement and a huge increase in international transport rates which resulted in the environmental decay of many regions of Europe. The branch agribusiness focuses among others on the use of alternative forms of tourism (e.g. stay on the organic farm etc.) to protect the environment, as well as promote the country, whose financial and social survival is at stake.
