ARTISAN OF TALES.
“Artisans of Tales” rises from the will expressed by four friend schools from five different Countries to collaborate together at international level to give to their institutes better chances of sharing, innovation and joint participarion. The present proposal rises from several confrontations happened among the partners, that highlighted how the School is now living on two major needs: on one side the need to be more captivating and innovative to attract the youngsters, leaving behind the techniques of the traditional didactics to innovate its educational paths, on the other hand it needs to respond to the growing lost of identitity that affects young people, lost between the wide world of the web and communities affected by lost of cohesion. Starting from this point the schools involved, created this proposal trying to put together the two needs mentioned above, setting up an experimental educational path on the field of the recovery of local identities, meaning with them the immaterial heritage of the communities, testing next to the traditional anthropological research, the format of the “Narratori di Comunità”, that has a growing success in Italy in the recovery of local traditions.
The proposal regards activities lasting 24 months, from 02/10/2017 to 01/10/2019, and involving directly 48 students from two age groups, 12-13 and 15-16 years old, and 8 members of the staffs.
These are the objectives set by the project:
-creation of an innovative and cross-sectorial educational path, open to the territory, able to give competences out of the traditional curriculum;
-preserve and transmit local identities, strengthening the connection between young people and their communities;
-favour intercultural dialogue through the acknowledgement of different cultural realities, boosting the use of the English language in the confrontation and exchange between schools;
-creation of new occasion for young people to get involved in the civic society and in an active European Citizenship;
-training of young “Artisans of Tales” for the trasmission of the traditional heritage and set of Narrative Paths consistent at the disposal of the communities.
Project's activities are organised in two parts: the first one regards the educational activities on the techniques of recovery, record and elaboration of the immaterial heritage, being the effective experimentation of the new educational path; the second part will see the mobility of pupils, during which the students will exchange experiences and share the Narrative Paths created throught their research.
The methodology will be inspired by a democratic approach, all the staffs will have the same role inside the partnership. The direct methodology of the educational path will be set during the implementation of the project answering to the basic requisite of: innovation, openness, cross-sectorial, inclusivenness, to avoid passive learning and to set a captivating path for hard to reach groups of students.
These long term results will be achieved:
-training of a group of young “Artisans of Tales” in each of the schools involved, that will stay active after the end of the project;
-creation of Narrative Paths for the preservation and trasmission of vocal narratives, folkloristic tradition and musicals, consistent and at the disposal of the community;
-set up of an educational path in the field of human sciences, consistent and applicable in other schools or classes;
-favour occasion of exchange and intercultural dialogue among young people of the European Union, to foster mutual comprehension and an active European Citizenship;
-favour the use of English language.
These results will have a positive impact on the perception of the school institution at the level of young people and families, and obviously of the civil society; also this impact is foreseen as an occasion for the sensibilisation of authorities and stakeholders on the importance to create occasion to ease experimental project of new didactics in collaboration with the civic society.
On the long term the positive effects of the project will be measured in the use of the new educational path in human sciences and in the sharing with the communities of the Narrative Paths created to recover and trasmit immaterial traditions of the territories.
